Vintage Mini Urban Beehive MUB

Eco Bee Box Vintage Mini Urban Beehive (MUB)

This vintage MUB was created with reclaimed lumber that was originally used in the late 19th century.  Some panels were completely cracked but once they were secured with the Eco Bee Box bracket they were fine.  Broken lumber isn’t a problem with the bracket as the panels can’t shift up, down, or side to side.  The next feature is the aged copper.  The copper was aged using a relatively safe process with household ingredients found in the kitchen.  The hive is up on a 5′ pole buried 2′ in the ground and exposed for 3′.  An Eco Bee Box powder-coated Post Bracket is mounted on top the pole, it can pivot 365 degrees and securely locks with a taped screw.

The vintage hive may be more attractive to honey bees due to their historical preference to rotting or aged tree cavities as compared to new lumber used in today’s beehives.

Each mini box is filled with 6 mini frames that are ideal for queen breeding or comb honey.

Place in a flower-bed so it sits above the forage and plants.  Grease the pole to prevent ground crawlers from entering the hive.  It becomes an amazing accent to an amazing yard.
